THE LEVELS OF THE
GROUNDWORK CERTIFICATION PROGRAMME

LEVEL 1


Level 1 covers the important basics of groundwork. You'll learn techniques to train your horse to respond to light aids, and learn to park. You'll find your horse easier to handle and improve response to ridden aids.
Once you have enrolled, click 'Groundwork Level 1' in the 'YOUR PROGRESS' table below to begin or to continue the course.

LEVEL 2


Level 2 builds on the skills learnt in Level 1, developing sideways movement from the ground, casting and real world proofing.
Once you have enrolled, click 'Groundwork Level 2' in the table to begin or to continue the course. Note - You need to have completed Level 1 to begin.

LEVEL 3


Level 3 builds on the skills learnt in Level 1 and Level 2, developing casting, lateral movements and transferring the basic skills learnt so far into ridden work.
Once you have enrolled, click 'Groundwork Level 3' in the table to begin or to continue the course. Note - You need to have completed Levels 1 and 2 to begin.

LEVEL 4


Level 4 transfers more of the groundwork skills such as moving the quarters/ fore hand and wiggly lines into ridden work .
Once you have enrolled, click 'Groundwork Level 4' in the table to begin or to continue the course. Note - You need to have completed Levels 1 to 3 to begin.

LEVEL 5


Level 5 transfers more advance groundwork skills such as leg yield, pirouettes, travers and shoulder-in into ridden work.
Once you have enrolled, click 'Groundwork Level 5' in the table to begin or to continue the course. Note - You need to have completed Levels 1 to 4 to begin.
