Jade has established an effective Rider Biomechanics toolkit; however, that does not mean she has achieved perfection with Flynny!
Ali opens the session by reminding Jade that as she starts each ride, it is important to notice how the horse is that day. How does the back feel? Where are the bulges? How is she sitting relative to the horse? And many more questions!
As the session progresses, Ali helps Jade to apply her toolkit to refining the basic gaits and lateral work. Small changes in Jade have a significant effect on Flynny as he becomes less “wibbly” in leg yield, and Jade enjoys a smoother ride.
Your route to progress is a little like peeling the layers of an onion: revisiting and improving aspects of your Rider Biomechanics, and making sure you notice how your horse is today, are key.
