SAVANNAH
SESSION 10 – SCHOOLING & LATERAL WORK
Ali coaches Claire and Savannah. The session starts with making sure Claire's legs are in the correct position. Her right leg needs to be rotated in, thinking of heel out. Her left leg needs to be further back to allow her to put her weight down her thigh.
Ali and Claire also discuss Claire's funky wrists and how to keep her knuckles pointing at the bit rings with her elbows bent. In trot, Claire focuses on 'vertical' at the top of the rise to stop her tipping forward and keeping her chest down.
Ali gets Claire to 'get in her bubble and stay there'! Claire shows Ali moving the quarters and the forehand, and then sidepass. Ali explains why Claire getting left behind stops Savannah moving her right hind under her.
They then look at leg yield in walk in both directions and how to stop Savannah running through her shoulder.
