SESSION 12 – PREPARING FOR A NOVICE DRESSAGE TEST

Claire and Savannah entered a My Quest dressage competition at Novice level the weekend after this session. In this session Ali helps them prepare! In walk, Claire works on stepping Savannah around the corners and ensuring that she is abducting.

Ali helps Claire improve Savannah's trot by doing 'slow trot' and getting Savannah to shift her weight back. Claire also does 'hand lifts' to stop Savannah going on to the forehand. Ali gets Claire to push her hands up which helps lever her body down. Claire works on maintaining hands up – body down and keeping her right thigh rotated in in canter.

Claire also gets Ali to help her with moving Savannah's quarters toward her in groundwork. Savannah decides to surprise Claire by doing it first time! This session took place at East Soley and Claire loaded her at home and at East Soley with only a few small issues.
